Still, the latest figure remained below its long term average of +0.4. Among sectors, accommodation and food service activities (14.7 vs. 10.2 in April) recorded the most positive assessment of business conditions, followed by wholesale trade (3 vs. 1.7). At the same time, sentiment became less pessimistic in construction (-1.3 vs. -2.4) and transportation and storage (-1.1 vs. -5.6), while retail trade turned neutral from -1.3.
