Italy Industrial Sales Rise 1.7% MoM in July

Italy’s industrial turnover rose 1.7% month-on-month in July 2026, after a downwardly revised 0.9% drop in the previous month.
This was the largest monthly increase since March, as sales rebounded in both domestic (-1% vs 0.1% in May) and foreign (-1% vs 1.3%) markets.
By main industrial groups, energy recorded the strongest increase, rising 6.7%, while capital goods (2.4%), consumer goods (0.8%), and intermediate goods (0.6%) also posted gains.
On an annual basis, industrial turnover, adjusted for calendar effects, grew 4.8%, accelerating from an upwardly revised 3.2% increase in June, with both domestic (3.8% vs 2.4%) and foreign (6.7% vs 4.5%) sales rising at a faster pace.
Among industrial groups, energy recorded a marked increase of 26.9%, while capital goods (4.0%) and intermediate goods (5.9%) also went up.
Turnover in consumer goods remained stable.
Meanwhile, turnover in the services sector edged up 0.2% month-on-month in July, following a revised 0.1% gain in June.
