The CAC 40 rose 0.6% to close at a record 8,667 on Tuesday, extending its winning streak to a fourth session as easing pressure from the recent AI-driven selloff lifted global market sentiment.

Lower oil prices also supported equities after US President Donald Trump canceled planned strikes on Iran to revive negotiations, easing concerns about inflation and the higher interest rates outlook.

Industrial stocks led gains, with Airbus rising 2.9%, Safran adding 1.4%, and Thales advancing 3.4%.

STMicroelectronics (+3.6%) and Schneider Electric (+3.1%) tracked the rally in US chipmakers.

In contrast, TotalEnergies fell 2.8% as crude prices declined.

On the data front, France's state budget deficit widened in January-June compared with the same period a year earlier.
