French Producer Prices Rise 1% in August

French domestic producer prices rose 1.0% month-on-month in August 2026, following a 1.3% increase in July.
Prices of manufactured products increased 0.4%, after a 0.7% rise in the prior period, while prices of mining and quarrying, energy, and water rose 2.9% after increasing 3.6%.
Prices of coke and refined petroleum products increased 5.2% after a 14.0% jump, as global oil prices rose in August, although the appreciation of the euro against the dollar tempered the increase.
Costs also increased for electrical and electronic equipment, computers, and machinery (+0.4% vs +0.2%), while transport equipment prices were unchanged after rising 0.3%.
Prices of other manufactured products were also stable after falling 0.1%, while food product prices were unchanged after declining 0.2%.
On an annual basis, domestic producer prices increased 4.8% in August, accelerating from a 3.5% rise in July and marking the strongest increase since May 2023.
