Futures tied to Canada’s stock market pointed higher on Wednesday, supported by a renewed rise in oil prices that boosted energy stocks and mining shares, helping offset the impact of steady gold prices.

Investors are also looking ahead to next week’s Bank of Canada monetary policy decision, with markets increasingly pricing in a rate hike, while the federal budget is scheduled to be delivered on November 5.

Meanwhile, Canada and Turkey are expected to sign a joint declaration aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation in four areas, including defence and energy, during Prime Minister Mark Carney’s visit later this week.
