Orders to the Swiss industry jumped 11.4 percent year-on-year in the first quarter of 2018, following a downwardly revised 11.2 percent advance in the previous three-month period. It was the sharpest increase in factory orders since the last quarter of 2010, as orders rose for intermediate goods (13.6 percent vs 15.6 percent in Q4), capital goods (10 percent vs 6.4 percent) and consumer non-durables (3.7 percent vs -1.5 percent).
