Unipol, Banca Mediolanum and BPER Banca each advanced over 1%, while Banco BPM fell 1.5% and Azimut shed 1.7%.Tech stocks fell as concerns of overspending ahead of earnings reports extended a selloff in chipmakers, while a breakthrough from China's CXMT added to the sector’s headwinds.

Technoprobe led the index’s losses, falling 5.1%, followed by STMicroelectronics (-3.9%) and Prysmian (-2.2%).

Stellantis fell 1.1% despite the autofirm's growing confidence in their EVs at the 2026 Paris auto show.

FTSE MIB Gains for Third Day
The FTSE MIB rose for a third straight session to above 50,200 on Tuesday, driven by gains in banking and utility stocks amid softer oil prices and bond yields. Financials moved mostly higher as investors monitored Italy’s banking consolidation battle. BPER Banca gained 1.6%, while Monte dei Paschi di Siena rose 1.1%, UniCredit added 1.0% and Intesa Sanpaolo advanced 0.8%, despite MPS reiterating concerns over Intesa’s revised takeover offer. Poste Italiane climbed 1.2% after Morgan Stanley resumed coverage with an overweight rating. Utilities also performed well, led by Enel (1.4%), Terna (1.2%) and A2A (1.1%). On the downside, technology stocks underperformed, with STMicroelectronics falling 3.1%. Stellantis traded little changed after reporting a 1% year-on-year decline in estimated Q3 shipments. Investors also monitored the government’s 2027 budget plan, as concerns over projected deficits could complicate Italy’s efforts to exit the EU’s excessive deficit procedure.
