FTSE MIB Trades Flat

2026-08-10 07:48 By Kyrie Dichosa 1 min. read

The FTSE MIB was nearly flat at around 53,600 on Monday but remained close to record levels as investors weighed mixed signals over the prospects of a US-Iran agreement and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said a deal with Oman to establish a shipping route through the strait was “very close,” but ruled out direct negotiations with Washington for now and warned that any agreement would not lead to an immediate resumption of shipping.

Across the bourse, tech-related stocks were outperforming, with STMicroelectronics and Prysmian rising more than 2% each.

Luxury names such as Moncler (+0.7%) and Brunello Cucinelli (+0.9%) were also trading higher.

Meanwhile, most financial stocks were in the red as investors awaited further developments on banking consolidation.
