The FTSE MIB Index Closes 0.99% Higher

The FTSE MIB Index went up by 463 points or 0.99 percent on Wednesday to close at 47114 points.

The rise was led by Mediobanca (4.44%), Finecobank (4.44%) and Nexi (4.16%).

On the downside, the weakerst performers were Davide Campari-Milano (-5.02%), Leonardo SpA (-3.58%) and Stellantis N.V.

(-1.34%).

FTSE MIB Rallies on Milder US-EU Tariff Outcome
The FTSE MIB rose 1.1% to close at 47,170  on Wednesday as trade jitters somewhat eased following President Trump’s latest tariff move. Investors are assessing the new trade landscape after the 10% global tariff took effect on Tuesday, instead of the previously threatened 15% rate. Financial stocks led the market rebound, with Mediobanca and MPS advancing more than 4%. In other news, TIM gained 1% after reporting a 2.7% annual increase in revenue and announcing a share buyback program. Also, Saipem was up 2.5% after reporting  18.9% quaterly rise in revenue.

FTSE MIB Rebounds
The FTSE MIB rose 0.8% to above 47,000 in early trading on Wednesday, following a modest decline in the previous session, as trade jitters somewhat eased following President Trump’s latest tariff move. Investors are assessing the new trade landscape after the 10% global tariff took effect on Tuesday, instead of the previously threatened 15% rate. Financial stocks led the market rebound, with significant gains in UniCredit (+1.4%), Banco BPM (+1.1%), BPER Banca (+1.1%), Mediobanca (+2.2%), Banca Mediolanum (+2.1%), FinecoBank (+2.8%), and Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena (+2.2%). Other top performers included Ferrari (+1.8%), Prysmian (+2.9%), and Nexi (+2.2%). Meanwhile, shares of defence group Leonardo fell 0.6%, even as its 2025 results exceeded financial targets, with strong growth across all key indicators and a substantial debt reduction.
