Italy Current Account Surplus Widens Sharply

Italy posted a current account surplus of €3.4 billion in September 2025, more than double the €1.5 billion recorded in the same month a year ago.
The goods surplus expanded to €3.0 billion from €2.4 billion in September 2024, and the primary income surplus widened sharply to €1.7 billion from €0.4 billion.
Also, the services surplus increased to €0.7 billion from €0.5 billion.
On the other hand, the secondary income deficit rose to €2.0 billion from €1.7 billion last year.
