The CAC 40 Index Opens 0.35% Higher

The CAC 40 rose 0.4% to 8,485 on Tuesday, rebounding from losses in the previous session as stabilization in technology sector helped improve risk sentiment. Investor attention turned to Nvidia’s closely watched earnings report due Wednesday, with the results expected to offer a crucial gauge of the strength and longevity of the AI-driven market. Investors also continued to assess developments surrounding US-Iran tensions after Washington's threat of an "economic D-Day" through tougher sanctions on Iran failed to generate the level of market disruption many had expected. Domestically, the consumer confidence index remained unchanged at 86 in August, falling short of forecasts for 87 and staying well below its long-run average of 100, highlighting ongoing caution among households. Notable gainers included Airbus (1.4%), Safran (1.5%), and Legrand (1.1%). Meanwhile, luxury stocks lagged the broader market, with LVMH down 0.7%, Hermès slipping 0.3%, and Kering losing 1.1%.

The CAC 40 Index is up by 30 points or 0.35 percent on Tuesday. Top gainers are Safran (1.53%), Legrand (1.24%) and Airbus (1.18%). Biggest losses came from Renault (-1.31%), Dassault Systemes (-1.24%) and Capgemini (-0.90%).

The CAC 40 Index dropped 31 points or 0.37 percent on Monday to close at 8453 points. Losses were led by Stellantis NV (-4.60%), STMicroelectronics (-1.97%) and TotalEnergies SE (-1.82%). Offsetting the fall, top gainers were Edenred (2.39%), Publicis (1.91%) and L'Oréal (1.69%).
