French Stocks Open the Week Lower

The CAC 40 edged 0.2% lower to 8,372 on Monday, extending losses from the previous week as investors remained cautious amid lingering uncertainty surrounding the fragile ceasefire between the US and Iran.
Over the weekend, Iran launched drone and missile strikes on Bahrain and Kuwait in response to fresh US attacks on targets in southern Iran, highlighting persistent regional tensions despite an agreement to resume security talks on the Strait of Hormuz.
Meanwhile, the spotlight is on the ECB's Sintra Forum this week, where leading central bankers, including Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh and ECB President Christine Lagarde, are expected to provide fresh insights into the global economic outlook and the trajectory of monetary policy.
Among individual stocks, losses were recorded in BNP Paribas (-0.8%), Air Liquide (-0.9%), EssilorLuxottica (-1.1%), and Vinci (-1.5%).
