Taiwan M2 Money Supply Growth Slows to 5.04%

The Broad M2 money supply in Taiwan increased by 5.04% year-on-year to TWD 66,577 billion in October 2025, easing from a 5.44% gain in the previous month.

The slowdown was mainly driven by a decrease in annual growth rates in loans and investments.

Considering the January-October period, the average annual growth rate stood at 4.44%

Despite this increase, the slowdown in annual M2 growth was primarily driven by net capital outflows. For the full year, the average annual growth rate stood at 4.54%.

This growth was mainly driven by the higher annual growth rate of demand deposits and the narrowing decline in foreign currency deposits. For the first eleven months of the year, the average annual growth rate stood at 4.50%.
