The number of unemployed persons increased by 433 month over month to 20,635. Meanwhile, total employment also rose by 452 to 304,089, while the active labor force among Luxembourg nationals grew by 886 to 324,724. The number of resident jobseekers climbed by 866 to 531,248. Luxembourg Unemployment Rate Edges Down to 6.2%
Luxembourg’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate edged down to 6.2% in May 2026 from 6.3% in the previous four months. The number of unemployed persons fell by 456 from the previous month to 19,674, while total employment increased by 138 to 303,958. Meanwhile, the number of unemployed resident jobseekers declined by 36 to 530,871. Regarding cross-border employment, the number of outgoing resident workers rose by 26 to 15,293, whereas the number of incoming cross border workers decreased by 177 to 234,836. The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remained above the 6.0% recorded in May 2025.
