Luxembourg's gross domestic product grew 0.6 percent on quarter in the three months to June of 2017, recovering from a downwardly revised 0.4 percent contraction in the previous period. Household consumption rebounded (0.1 percent from -0.6 percent in Q1) and government spending rose at a faster pace (0.7 percent from 0.6 percent). In addition, net trade contributed positively, as exports jumped 2.4 percent (0.4 percent in Q1) and imports went up at a slower 0.6 percent (1.6 percent in Q1). Meanwhile, fixed investment shrank 6.2 percent, following an increase of 5 percent in the previous period. Year-on-year, the GDP grew 2.2 percent, easing from an upwardly revised 4 percent expansion in the first quarter.
