The FTSE MIB hovered around 46,810 on Tuesday after reaching a record high in the previous session, as investors continued to assess a fresh batch of corporate earnings.
Shares of Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena fell nearly 2% despite reporting a sharp increase in fourth-quarter net profit.
Other notable decliners included Nexi (-1.5%), Tenaris (-1.1%), and Banco BPM (-0.7%).
However, these losses were offset by strong gains in Mediobanca (+2.5%), Stellantis (+3.9%), and Buzzi Unicem (+2%).
Mediobanca advanced despite reporting a 6% decline in half-year net profit in the second half of 2025.
