FTSE MIB Hits 25-Year High on Financial Sector Strength

The FTSE MIB rose 0.9% to close at 46,420 on Tuesday, the highest since 2000, on strong support from the heavyweight financial sector in Milan.
UniCredit rose 2.2% and BPER rose 1.3% ahead of their earnings this week, while Generali extended yesterday's rally with a 1.5% gain and Intesa Sanpaolo rose 1.6% as markets continued to digest their higher revenues.
Utilities posted gains as well, with Enel up 1%.
On the downside, STMicroelectronics fell 2.6%, while luxury names traded lower, including Ferrari (-0.9%), Moncler (-1.4%), and Brunello Cucinelli (-2.4%).
