Hong Kong Exports Reach Record High

Exports from Hong Kong surged 53.4% year-on-year to an all-time high of $641.1 billion in June 2026, accelerating from a 40.8% increase in the previous month.
It marked the strongest annual growth since March 1984, driven primarily by robust shipments of electrical machinery, apparatus and appliances, and electrical parts thereof (57.2% vs 56.1% in May), office machines and automatic data processing machines (93.2% vs 50.2%), telecommunications and sound recording and reproducing apparatus and equipment (69.9% vs 37.6%), miscellaneous manufactured articles (58.6% vs 29.6%), power generating machinery and equipment (23.5% vs 7.6%), and professional, scientific and controlling instruments and apparatus (18.1% vs 7.3%).
Regionally, exports to Asia climbed 54.4%, led by Mainland China and Hong Kong (59.2%), Singapore (83.0%), and Taiwan (79.9%).
Shipments to other major markets also posted strong gains, including the US (114.3%) and Mexico (94.2%).
