The CAC 40 edged up 0.4% to close at 7,987 on Monday, recovering early losses as gains in energy and industrial shares supported the index.
TotalEnergies rose 2% as the prolonged disruption linked to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz drove oil and gas prices sharply higher.
Industrial stocks also advanced, with Airbus up 1.6% and Safran gaining 0.9%.
Meanwhile, the financial sector traded mixed, with AXA rising 2.2% while BNP Paribas fell 1.4% amid concerns over energy-driven inflation.
Luxury stocks rebounded after recent sharp losses linked to weak China retail sales, with Kering up 1.1%, Hermès gaining 0.3%, and both LVMH and L’Oréal edging higher.
