The CAC 40 Index Opens 0.33% Higher

The CAC 40 Index is picking up 26 points or 0.33 percent on Friday.

Gains are led by Capgemini (3.42%), Dassault Systemes (1.96%) and Eurofins Scientific SE (1.84%).

Biggest losers are Carrefour (-0.68%), TotalEnergies SE (-0.59%) and L'Oréal (-0.35%).

The CAC 40 Index gained 94 points or 1.15 percent on Thursday to close at 8244 points. Gains were led by Capgemini (6.61%), Dassault Systemes (5.94%) and Eurofins Scientific SE (5.03%).

French Stocks Rebound on Ceasefire Hopes
The CAC 40 closed 1.1% higher at to 8,238 on Thursday, rebounding from the previous session as investor sentiment improved following news that Israel and Lebanon had agreed to implement a ceasefire. The deal remains conditional on a complete cessation of Hezbollah attacks and the withdrawal of its operatives south of the Litani River. Additional support came from comments by President Donald Trump, who said talks with Iran were progressing “very well” and could produce results as soon as this weekend, despite denials from Tehran. Domestically, the Construction PMI rose to 39.6 in May from 38.1 in April, when construction activity recorded its steepest contraction since September 2024. Luxury stocks were among the strongest performers, particularly LVMH (2.8%), Hermès (1.2%), and Kering (2%). Aerospace and defense names also advanced, with Airbus rising 4.5% and Safran adding 2.2%.

The CAC 40 Index is gaining 48 points or 0.59 percent on Thursday. Leading the gains are Capgemini (4.31%), Pernod Ricard (2.33%) and Dassault Systemes (1.81%). Top losers are STMicroelectronics (-3.01%), Orange (-0.71%) and Danone (-0.64%).
