The CAC 40 slipped 0.2% to close at 8,090 on Wednesday, extending losses from the previous session, as investors adopted a cautious stance ahead of key central bank meetings.

Schneider Electric led the decliners, down 3.5%, followed by Saint-Gobain (-2.7%), Essilor (-1.5%), Airbus (-1.3%), and Legrand (-1.2%).

Luxury names underperformed, with Hermes (-1.6%) and LVMH (-0.7%) retreating.

Pernod Ricard slipped 0.4% after announcing the sale of its US sparkling wine brands to Trinchero, securing exclusive production and distribution rights in North America.

On the upside, banking and insurance shares outperformed, with Societe Generale climbing 3.7%, BNP Paribas adding 1.5%, AXA rising 1.0%, and Credit Agricole advancing 0.9%.

Market participants now brace for a busy week of central bank decisions, including policy meetings from the Bank of England, European Central Bank, and Bank of Japan, which are expected to shape market direction in the near term.
