Consumer confidence in France rose to 90 in December 2025 from 89 in November, meeting market expectations but remaining below the long-term average of 100.
Savings intentions increased to 46 from 45, while negative perceptions of the past standard of living improved to -70 from -74.
Major purchase intentions also became less negative, rising to -27 from -30.
Conversely, assessments of current saving capacity eased to 19 from 21, expected saving capacity fell to 14 from 16, and expectations for the future standard of living slipped to -57 from -56.
Households’ assessments of their past financial situation remained at -21, while future financial expectations held at -14.
Unemployment prospects decreased to 45 from 47.
Perceptions of past consumer prices improved to -3 from -8, and future inflation expectations slightly eased to -30 from -31, reflecting persistent caution about the broader economic outlook.
