France Consumer Confidence Edges Up

Consumer confidence in France edged up to 89 in July 2025, from 88 in the previous two months, slightly surpassing market expectations of 88.
Households reported modest improvements in their perceptions of both their past (-23 vs -24) and future (-13 vs -14) personal financial situations.
The proportion of households who consider it an appropriate time to make major purchases remained unchanged (-26).
Meanwhile, the share of households who believe it is a good time to save rose again (18 vs 17).
Concerns about unemployment continued to ease, with the corresponding indicator falling to 54 from 58.
On the other hand, expectations of future inflation rose, as more households anticipate price acceleration over the next twelve months (-31 vs -36).
