The saving rate of the households sector in Finland edged up to -1.8 percent in the fourth quarter of 2016 from -1.9 percent in the third quarter, mainly caused by continued strong household consumption as households' disposable income increased further. Personal Savings in Finland averaged 1.58 percent from 1999 until 2016, reaching an all time high of 8.80 percent in the first quarter of 2002 and a record low of -5.10 percent in the second quarter of 2002.
