Finnish Leading Index Rises the Most in 3 Months
Finland's gross domestic product grew by 4.96 percent year-on-year in September 2021, the most since June, after a downwardly revised 4.29 percent gain in the prior month. This also marked the eighth straight month of increase in the country's economic activity, with manufacturing output growth picking up sharply (6.63 percent vs 2.89 percent in August). Meantime, production continued to grow for both the service sector (3.97 percent vs 4.43 percent) and agriculture, forestry, and fishing (13.01 percent vs 14.19 percent).

Finland's gross domestic product grew by 4.6 percent year-on-year in August 2021, after a downwardly revised 5.3 percent gain in the prior month, pointing to the sixth straight month of increase. Output rose at a softer rate for both manufacturing (3.52 percent vs 3.49 percent in July) and services (4.68 percent vs 6.27 percent). Meanwhile, activity in agriculture, forestry, and fishing rose by 14.19 percent, rebounding sharply from a 2.05 percent fall in July.
Finnish July GDP Growth Weakest in 4 Months
Finland's gross domestic product advanced by 5.5 percent year-on-year in July 2021, slowing from a downwardly revised 9.1 percent rise in the prior month. It was the fifth straight month of increase in the economy but the weakest pace since March, as production of services grew softer (6.9 percent vs 12.4 percent in June), while that of agriculture, forestry and fishing fell sharply (-6.4 percent vs 7.2 percent). Meantime, production of manufacturing continued to expand (3.1 percent vs 1.6 percent in June).
