Finnish Economic Growth Slows in August

Finland’s gross domestic product expanded by 2.3% year-on-year in August 2026, slowing from an upwardly revised 2.7% growth in the previous month. The latest reading marked the seventh consecutive month of expansion in the Finnish economy, albeit at a softer pace. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, the country’s economy grew by 0.3% in August, rebounding from a 0.2% decline in the previous month.

The latest reading marked the sixth consecutive month of expansion in the Finnish economy, albeit at a softer pace. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, the country’s economy contracted by 1.1% in July, marking the steepest since February last year and reversing a 1% expansion in the preceding period.

On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, GDP grew by 0.3% in June, following 0.1% increases in each of the previous two months.
