This marked the third consecutive month of decline, albeit at a softer pace as output recovered for chemicals and oil refineries (24.2% vs -26.1% in November), basic metals (2% vs -13.1%), electrical equipment (3.3% vs -6.2%), and transport equipment (4.8% vs -0.7%). At the same time, contraction eased for food, beverages, and tobacco (-1.1% vs -2.5%), paper products and printing (-1.9% vs -2.2%), and pharmaceuticals (-6.2% vs -10.9%). On the other hand, activity declined for textiles and leather products (-1.9% vs 0.5%), electrical components (-12.1% vs 1.2%), and machinery (-1.2% vs 2%).
