Industrial production in Denmark jumped 10.6 percent year-on-year in March 2019, following a downwardly revised 3.4 percent gain in the previous month. Manufacturing growth accelerated to 10.8 percent from 3.4 percent in February, mainly supported by output of plastic, glass and concrete (10.5 percent vs 2.8 percent); pharmaceuticals (31.4 percent vs 15.2 percent); chemicals and oil refineries (7.2 percent vs -5.6 percent); basic metals and fabricated metal products (10 percent vs -0.1 percent); and furniture and other manufacturing (2.8 percent vs -12.9 percent). Meantime, output growth eased for food, beverages and tobacco (0.9 percent vs 2.5 percent) and machinery (5.8 percent vs 6.1 percent). On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial production rose 1.4 percent in March. Mining and quarrying also advanced faster (9.6 percent vs 4.5 percent).
