It marked the lowest level since March, driven by a reduction in foreign currency reserves, which slipped to USD 163.9 billion from USD 165.7 billion, while the value of gold holdings decreased to USD 10.7 billion from USD 11.4 billion. By contrast, the country's IMF reserve position rose slightly to USD 0.77 billion from USD 0.76 billion. It marked the highest level since February 2026, as foreign currency reserves increased to USD 165.7 billion from USD 164.3 billion in April. In addition, the IMF reserve position (USD 0.76 billion) and SDRs (USD 3.5 billion) were broadly unchanged. On the other hand, gold (USD 11.4 billion vs USD 11.6 billion) and other reserve assets (USD 0.66 billion vs USD 1.5 billion) declined.
