The business confidence indicator in the Czech Republic retreated 1.8 points to 95.3 in September of 2021, the lowest reading since April amid intense supply chain bottlenecks and material shortages. The report points to significant reductions and even shutdowns in Czech Republic’s auto industry, as well as lingering staff shortages in the construction sector. Sentiment deteriorated in the construction sector (111.6 from 116.4 in August), and in manufacturing industries (92.5 vs 97.1).
