Czechia Business Confidence Falls to 4-Month Low
The business confidence indicator in the Czech Republic fell to 99 in May 2025 from 100.4 in each of the previous two months. This marked the lowest reading since January. Confidence weakened most notably in industry, where the indicator declined by 2.6 points to a four-month low of 94.5. Sentiment also deteriorated in the trade sector, which dropped by 2.2 points to a nineteen-month low of 92.8, while the indicator for selected services decreased by 0.5 points to 102.4. In contrast, sentiment improved in construction, with the indicator rising by 2.4 points to a seven-month high of 117.9.

Czechia Business Confidence Steady in March
The business confidence indicator in the Czech Republic stood at 100.4 in April 2026, unchanged from the previous month and remaining at its highest level since October 2025. Confidence strengthened in the construction sector, where the indicator climbed to 115.5 from 113.8 in March. Sentiment also improved in selected services, rising to 102.9 from 100.3, its strongest reading in three months. On the other hand, gains were partially offset by weaker business morale in the industry sector, which fell to 97.1 from 99.5, while sentiment in the trade sector deteriorated to a ten-month low of 95 from 98.2 in the prior month.
