The business confidence indicator in the Czech Republic decreased by 2.2 points to 97.1 in August of 2021, amid concerns over the economic impact of the fast-spreading Delta variant. It was the lowest reading since April, as sentiment waned among manufacturers (97.1 vs 98.7 in July), service providers (94.2 vs 97.6) and traders (102.4 vs 104.7). Conversely, constructors were more optimistic (116.4 vs 114).

Czech Business Morale at Over 2-1/2-Year High
The business confidence indicator in the Czech Republic jumped by 4.6 points to 103.7 in June of 2021, as the pandemic receded to its lowest since last summer and the economy continued to reopen. It was the highest reading since November of 2018, as optimism rose more markedly in trade (104.7 from 99.3 in May), services (97.6 from 92.7), industry (108.2 from 103.6), and lastly construction (115.8 from 115.2).

The business confidence indicator in the Czech Republic increased by 4.3 points from the previous month to 99.1 in May of 2021, amid the gradual lifting of Covid-19 restrictions. It was the highest reading since August 2019, as sentiment improved among constructors (115.2 vs 110.9 in April), manufacturers (103.6 vs 102.3), traders (99.3 vs 94.9) and service providers (92.7 vs 85.4).
