Czech Republic Industrial Production at 5.80 percent  
Industrial production in Czech Republic increased 5.8 percent year-on-year in August of 2017, following a 3.3 percent rise in July and higher than market expectations of an 3.5 percent gain. August of 2017 had the same number of working days compared to August 2016. It was the strongest growth in industrial output since May, as output of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply rebounded (14.1 percent vs -8 percent in July). Meantime, the manufacturing sector expanded further (5.3 percent vs 5.4 percent), mainly boosted by basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceuticals preparations (39.3 percent vs -17.7 percent), chemicals and chemicals products (18.2 percent vs 13.5 percent), printing and reproductions of recorded media (7.3 percent vs 3.7 percent). On the other hand, output of mining and quarrying fell less (-3.2 percent vs -14.3 percent). On a monthly basis, industrial production jumped 14.3 percent compared to a 9.8 percent fall in July.

Czech Republic Producer Prices Change at 1.70 percent  
Czech producer prices increased by 1.7 percent year-on-year in September 2017, following a 1.4 percent gain in the previous month and beating market expectations of 1.6 percent. It was the highest producer inflation since May, as cost rose at faster pace for both mining (1.9 percent from 1.7 percent in August) and manufacturing (2.1 percent from 2 percent), mainly for basic metals and fabricated metal products (5.1 percent from 4.9 percent). By contrast, prices of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning continued to fall (-1.1 percent from -1.3 percent in August). On a monthly basis, producer prices rose 0.4 percent.

Czech consumer prices rose 2.7 percent year-on-year in September 2017, accelerating from a 2.5 percent in the prior month but in line with market expectations. It was the highest inflation rate since October 2012, as prices went up more for : Food and non-alcoholic beverages (5.7 percent vs 5.6 percent in August); transport (3.0 percent vs 2.7 percent); restaurants and hotels (6.8 percent vs 6.0 percent); clothing and footwear (0.6 percent vs 0.5 percent), and health (4.3 percent vs 3.9 percent). Prices rose less for : Education (1.6 percent vs 2.1 percent); miscellaneous goods and services ( 0.7 percent vs 0.9 percent); alcoholic beverages (1.3 percent vs 1.4 percent), and recreation and culture (1.0 percent vs 1.3 percent). Inflation was steady for housing (2.2 percent). In contrast cost fell for both furnishings (-0.1 percent) and communication (-1.6 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices edged down 0.1 percent, the same pace as in August and matching market consensus.
