Czech Republic Forex Reserves at 6-Month Low

Foreign exchange reserves in the Czech Republic fell to USD 180.1 billion in September 2026 from a record high of USD 184.6 billion in the previous month.

It marked the smallest figure since March, mainly driven by a decline in foreign currency reserves to USD 162.8 billion from USD 166.8 billion in August.

The IMF reserve position also fell to USD 0.767 billion from USD 0.775 billion, while SDRs declined to USD 3.50 billion from USD 3.54 billion and gold reserves dropped to USD 11.66 billion from USD 12.63 billion.

On the other hand, other reserve assets increased to USD 1.35 billion from USD 0.80 billion.

It marked the highest level on record, driven by higher foreign currency reserves, which climbed to USD 166.8 billion from USD 165.1 billion, while gold holdings rose to USD 12.6 billion from USD 11.0 billion. The country’s IMF reserve position increased slightly to USD 0.775 billion from USD 0.769 billion, while holdings of Special Drawing Rights (SDRs) edged up to USD 3.54 billion from USD 3.51 billion. Additionally, other reserve assets rose to USD 0.80 billion from USD 0.26 billion.

Foreign exchange reserves in the Czech Republic rose to USD 181.0 billion at the end of July 2026 from USD 180.6 billion in June. The increase was mainly driven by higher foreign currency reserves, which climbed to USD 165.5 billion from USD 164.9 billion, while gold holdings rose to USD 11.0 billion from USD 10.7 billion. The country’s IMF reserve position increased slightly to USD 0.77 billion from USD 0.77 billion, while holdings of Special Drawing Rights (SDRs) edged up to USD 3.51 billion from USD 3.49 billion. By contrast, other reserve assets fell sharply to USD 0.26 billion from USD 0.72 billion.
