Chile Producer Inflation Accelerates in July

Chile’s producer inflation rose to 20.5% year-on-year in July 2026, from 19.7% in June, matching the rate recorded in May, which was the highest since August 2022.

Mining prices recorded the strongest gains, surging 34.7% after rising 32.5% in June, driven by faster growth in copper prices (35.3% vs 32.9%).

Manufacturing prices also accelerated, rising 6.5% from 5.5%.

Meanwhile, utility prices increased just 0.5%, slowing sharply from a 5.2% increase in the previous month.

On a monthly basis, producer prices rose 1.9%, accelerating from a 0.6% increase in June.

Mining prices recorded the strongest gain, rising 32.5% after a 35% increase in the previous month, driven by a 32.9% jump in copper prices. Manufactured goods prices increased 5.5%, accelerating from 4.8% in May, while utility prices rose 5.2% after a 5% gain. On a monthly basis, producer prices advanced 0.6%, slowing from a 2.8% increase in May, bringing the year-to-date rise to 8.8%.

Chile's producer prices increased 20.5% year-on-year in May of 2026, marking the highest level since July 2022, accelerating from 17.7% in April. Mining prices showed the biggest increase, surging 35%, followed by utilities (5%) and manufacturing (4.8%). On a monthly basis, producer prices increased 2.8%, up from 1.6% in the prior month, and bringing the year-to-date increase to 8.2%.
