Chile Producer Inflation at 2022-High

Chile's producer prices increased 20.5% year-on-year in May of 2026, marking the highest level since July 2022, accelerating from 17.7% in April. Mining prices showed the biggest increase, surging 35%, followed by utilities (5%) and manufacturing (4.8%). On a monthly basis, producer prices increased 2.8%, up from 1.6% in the prior month, and bringing the year-to-date increase to 8.2%.

Chile’s producer prices increased 17.7% year-on-year in April 2026, accelerating from a 14.8% rise in March, driven by higher mining costs. The mining sector posted the sharpest increase, with prices surging 30.8% as copper producer prices jumped 30.9%. Meanwhile, utility prices rose 3.7% and manufacturing prices increased 3.8%. On a monthly basis, the producer price index advanced 1.6%, bringing the year-to-date increase to 5.2%.

Chile’s producer prices increased 14.8% year-on-year in March 2026, accelerating from a 12.9% rise in February. The mining sector recorded the sharpest gain, with prices up 25.8%, largely driven by a 25.3% surge in copper prices. Meanwhile, utility prices rose 3.9%, while manufacturing prices increased 2.4%. On a monthly basis, the producer price index advanced 2.1%, bringing the year-to-date increase to 3.5%.
