Exports from Chile jumped 23.3 percent year-on-year to USD 6.10 billion in August 2017, mainly led by sales of mining products (34.5 percent from 12.3 percent in July), as copper exports surged 33.7 percent (from 9.8 percent). Also, sales of industrial products expanded (10 percent vs 12.9 percent), namely pulp, paper and others (41.4 percent) and chemicals (16.7 percent). In addition, exports of agricultural, forestry and fisheries continued to grow firmly (29.2 percent vs 9.1 percent). Exports in Chile averaged 3351.11 USD Million from 1991 until 2017, reaching an all time high of 7760.56 USD Million in December of 2010 and a record low of 644.40 USD Million in November of 1991.

Chile Exports

Chile's economy is highly dependent on copper exports (49 percent of total exports) and the state-owned firm CODELCO is the world's largest copper-producing company. Other exports include: Food products (13 percent), fruit (7 percent), chemicals (7 percent) and machinery and equipment (2 percent). Main export partners are: China (25 percent of total exports), United States (12 percent), Japan (9 percent), South Korea (6 percent) and Brazil (5 percent).
