Exports from chile went up 15.3 percent year-on-year to USD 6016 million in November 2017, the lowest gain since May. Sales of mining products slowed (23 percent vs 31.7 percent), led by lower exports of copper (27.4 percent vs 32.8 percent) amid work stoppages in major copper Mines Escondida due to strikes during November. Also, sales of industrial products increased at a much softer pace (8.4 percent vs 16.9 percent). Meantime, exports of agricultural, forestry & fisheries fell sharply (-16 percent vs 12.6 percent), namely fruits (-20.7 percent vs 14.4 percent). Exports in Chile averaged 3377.11 USD Million from 1991 until 2017, reaching an all time high of 7760.56 USD Million in December of 2010 and a record low of 644.40 USD Million in November of 1991.

Chile Exports

Chile's economy is highly dependent on copper exports (49 percent of total exports) and the state-owned firm CODELCO is the world's largest copper-producing company. Other exports include: Food products (13 percent), fruit (7 percent), chemicals (7 percent) and machinery and equipment (2 percent). Main export partners are: China (25 percent of total exports), United States (12 percent), Japan (9 percent), South Korea (6 percent) and Brazil (5 percent).
