Australia Jobless Rate Highest Since 2021

Australia’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate rose to 4.3% in June 2025, up from 4.1% over the previous five months and above market expectations of 4.1%.
This marked the highest unemployment rate since November 2021, as the number of unemployed people increased by 33,600 to 659,600.
Meanwhile, employment rose by just 2,000 to 14.62 million—well below forecasts of a 20,000 increase.
