The S&P Global Australia Services PMI Business Activity Index rose to 52.8 in November from 52.5 in October, indicating faster expansion in the service sector.
The improvement reflected stronger new business inflows supported by better underlying demand, with new orders accelerating while employment increased at the softest pace in ten months as firms struggled to secure suitable candidates.
Export demand for services strengthened markedly, producing the fastest expansion in new export business in over three years.
Business confidence was unchanged from October and remained below the survey average.
On the cost side, input price inflation rose at a quicker rate due to higher energy, wage and material expenses, while selling price inflation picked up slightly but remained modest overall.
