Rebound in Australia Private House Approvals Confirmed

Private house approvals in Australia grew 4.0% month-on-month to 9,547 units in September 2025, rebounding from a 1.0% fall in the previous month and confirming preliminary estimates.

The number of house approvals was the highest since August 2022, driven by increases in New South Wales (7.8%), South Australia (7.4%), Victoria (7.3%), and Western Australia (6.8%).

Queensland was the only state to record a decline, down 6.9%.

On an annual basis, private house approvals were unchanged.
