The Cotality Home Value Index in Australia rose by 0.5% month-over-month in May 2025, accelerating from a 0.3% advance in April.

It was the largest increase since August 2024, following the Reserve Bank of Australia’s 25 basis point rate cut at the start of the month, the first since January, which brought borrowing costs to a two-year low.

Among major cities, Perth recorded the strongest growth at 0.7%, followed by Brisbane (0.6%) and Sydney (0.5%), while both Adelaide and Melbourne saw prices rise by 0.4%.

On an annual basis, national home values were up 2.7%.
