Taiwan’s export orders surged 62.4% year-on-year to a record USD 114 billion in September 2026, although easing from 71.4% in the previous month.
Growth in export orders moderated for information and communication products (87.3% vs 100.5% in August), electronic products (71% vs 83.9%), machinery (21.5% vs 28.3%), electrical machinery products (7.1% vs 14.7%), and mineral products (73% vs 91.6%).
In contrast, growth accelerated for basic metals and articles thereof (29.7% vs 26.8%), while orders for transport equipment rebounded sharply (5.8% vs -0.1%).
Despite the moderation across several categories, export orders exceeded USD 100 billion for a second consecutive month, underscoring the strength of AI-driven demand for Taiwan, a leading global supplier of AI chips and related technology.
Among major markets, export order growth remained robust, led by the US (79.4%), Europe (68%), Mainland China and Hong Kong (48.5%), ASEAN countries (41.1%), and Japan (35.5%).
