Taiwan Industrial Output Hits 3-Month High

Industrial production in Taiwan climbed 22.95% year-on-year in June 2026, accelerating from an upwardly revised 11.85% in the previous month and marking the strongest annual growth since March.
Output in the manufacturing sector almost doubled to 24.34% from 12.69% in May, supported by robust gains in the manufacture of electronic parts and components (30.37% vs 12.74%) and computers, electronic and optical products (45.05% vs 35.69%).
Overall industrial activity was also supported by a softer contraction in mining and quarrying (-8.54% vs -8.86%) and a faster increase in electricity and gas supply (1.91% vs 0.08%).
In contrast, output growth in water supply eased notably (1.42% vs 3.41%).
On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial production jumped to 2.68%, from 1.6% in May and marking the strongest monthly increase since February.
