Taiwan Industrial Output at 4-Month High

Industrial production in Taiwan climbed 25.61% year-on-year in July 2026, accelerating from 22.56% in the previous month and marking the strongest growth since March.

Manufacturing output surged to a four-month high of 26.89% from 23.96% in June, led by a sharp increase in computers, electronic and optical products (95.62% vs 44.11%), while growth in electronic parts and components eased (22.72% vs 30%).

Overall output was also supported by a rebound in mining and quarrying (0.83% vs -10.79%) and faster growth in electricity and gas supply (5.8% vs 1.54%).

In contrast, output slipped in water supply (-1.3% vs 1.45%).

On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial production rose 4.15% from 2.41% in June, marking its highest reading since February.

Industrial production in Taiwan climbed 22.95% year-on-year in June 2026, accelerating from an upwardly revised 11.85% in the previous month and marking the strongest annual growth since March. Output in the manufacturing sector almost doubled to 24.34% from 12.69% in May, supported by robust gains in the manufacture of electronic parts and components (30.37% vs 12.74%) and computers, electronic and optical products (45.05% vs 35.69%). Overall industrial activity was also supported by a softer contraction in mining and quarrying (-8.54% vs -8.86%) and a faster increase in electricity and gas supply (1.91% vs 0.08%). In contrast, output growth in water supply eased notably (1.42% vs 3.41%). On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial production jumped to 2.68%, from 1.6% in May and marking the strongest monthly increase since February.

Taiwan Industrial Output Hits Over 1-Year Low
Industrial production in Taiwan rose 11.78% year-on-year in May 2026, easing from an upwardly revised 14.94% growth in the previous month and marking the slowest expansion since January 2025. Manufacturing output growth moderated to 12.68% from 16.01% in April, particularly in pulp, paper and paper products (0.87% vs 4.73%), computers, electronic and optical products (36.62% vs 83.65%), and machinery and equipment (10.68% vs 16.33%). Meanwhile, output in electricity and gas supply declined further (-1.29% vs -1.08%), while the contraction in mining and quarrying eased slightly (-7.61% vs -8.71%). In contrast, water supply output accelerated, rising 3.54% compared with a 2.73% gain in the previous month. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial production advanced 1.55% in May, following an upwardly revised 0.93% increase in April, marking the strongest growth since February.
