Tourist arrivals in Slovenia increased 2.8 percent from a year earlier to 891,560 in July of 2019, following a downwardly revised 12 percent rise in the previous month. Foreign tourists generated 746,666 arrivals and were up 5.2 percent year-on-year while domestic tourists generated 144,894 arrivals in July and were down 8 percent. Among foreigners, arrivals rose from Germany (15.9 percent); Netherlands (3.1 percent); Czech Republic (14.7 percent) and Belgium (0.2 percent), but fell from Italy (-3.9 percent). Meantime, overnight stays edged up 0.1 percent year-on-year to 8.814 million in July. Tourist Arrivals in Slovenia averaged 346876.22 from 2008 until 2019, reaching an all time high of 990400 in August of 2018 and a record low of 153320 in January of 2008.
