Kyrgyzstan’s economy contracted 0.7 percent year-on-year during the first eight months of 2021, a preliminary estimate showed. Economic activity remained subdued within goods-producing industries (-7.3 percent compared to a year ago), particularly in manufacturing (-12.7 percent), construction (-9.1 percent) and agriculture (-4.9 percent).
