The economy of Kyrgyzstan shrank 3.8 percent year-on-year in the January-April period of 2021, as the economy gradually recovers from the Covid-19 pandemic, a preliminary estimate showed. The goods-producing industries contracted 10.4 percent, mainly on account of manufacturing (-16.4 percent) and construction (-17 percent). Meanwhile, growth was recorded in both the services (1.3 percent) and the agricultural sectors (1 percent).
