Silver prices dropped toward $53.5 an ounce on Wednesday, their lowest level since November 2025 following the Federal Reserve’s decision to keep interest rates unchanged.
The FOMC voted 10–2 to keep the target range for the federal funds rate at 3.75% to 4.00%, reiterating its commitment to curbing inflation while offering little clarity on the possibility of another hike in December.
Meanwhile, oil prices advanced after an attack on a Saudi Arabian refinery raised concerns over potential supply disruptions.
Geopolitical tensions also intensified after Axios reported that the US and Israel could launch large-scale strikes against Iran unless a last-minute agreement is reached.
According to the CME FedWatch Tool, markets widely anticipate a second Federal Reserve rate hike this year in December.
