Arabica futures rose to as much as $3.92 per pound, pulling away from the $3.82 per pound on September 2 amid concerns over tight supplies.
Certified stocks at ICE continued to decline, falling to 686,863 bags as of September 3, the lowest since May 2024.
Meanwhile, Brazil’s national food agency Conab warned that US tariffs of 50% on Brazilian imports, including coffee, are pushing prices higher and underscored the difficulty of replacing Brazilian supply, suggesting upward price pressures could persist.
Conab also slightly lowered its Brazil 2025 coffee crop forecast to 55.2 million 60-kg bags, down from 55.7 million in May.
Separately, the International Coffee Organization (ICO) reported that global exports of green coffee slipped 0.7% year-on-year in July to 10.3 million bags, following last year’s record shipments.
