Baltic Dry Rebounds on Thursday

The Baltic dry index rose 1.6% to 2,673 on Thursday, recovering from three consecutive sessions of losses. The capesize index, which typically transports 150,000-ton cargoes, including iron ore and coal, advanced 2.5% to 4,167. Also, the panamax index, which usually carries 60,000 to 70,000 tons of coal or grain, increased 2.3% to 2,040, its highest level since July 24. On the other hand, the supramax index decreased 1.1% to 1,610, its lowest level in three weeks.

The Baltic dry index fell 1.2% to 2,632 on Wednesday, its lowest in four weeks. The capesize index, which typically transports 150,000 ton cargoes, including iron ore and coal declined 1.8% to 4,067, its lowest since July 21. Also, the supramax index decreased 1.2% to 1,628, its lowest level since June 10. On the other hand, the panamax index, which usually carries 60,000 to 70,000 tons of coal or grain, increased 0.4% to 1,995.

The Baltic Dry Index fell 1.2% to 2,664 on Tuesday, reaching its lowest level since July 2. The Capesize Index, which typically tracks vessels transporting 150,000-ton cargoes such as iron ore and coal, declined 1.4% to 4,140, its lowest level since July 22. The Panamax Index, which generally measures vessels carrying 60,000 to 70,000 tons of coal or grain, fell 0.6% to 1,988, reaching its lowest level since late April. The Supramax Index declined 1.3% to 1,648, its lowest level since June 12.
