Baltic Dry Index Rises for 13th Day

The Baltic Exchange’s dry bulk index, which tracks rates for vessels transporting dry commodities, extended its rally into a 13h consecutive day on Monday, up 0.9% to a fresh peak since December 2023 at 2,583 points.
The capesize index, which typically transports 150,000-ton cargoes such as iron ore and coal, rose 1.8% to its highest since December 2023 at 4,563 points.
At the same time, the supramax index edged up 1 point to 1,442 points; while the panamax index, which usually carries 60,000-70,000 tons of coal or grain, fell for the third session, down 0.9% to 1,934 points.
