Mining output fell 0.8% (compared with -1.8% in September), weighed down by metallic mining, which dropped 1.7% due to lower copper extraction and processing.

Non-metallic mining, however, rose 4.7%, supported by higher lithium carbonate production.

Manufacturing also contracted 0.4% (compared with 5.1% growth in September), with notable declines in paper and related products (-9.4%), alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages (-8.7%), and machinery and equipment (-16.6%).

Utilities output showed modest improvement, climbing 1.1% in October after a 1.0% gain in September.
