Taiwan’s consumer confidence index inched up to 65.01 in August 2026 from July’s 64.58.
The increase was driven by rises in four of six core sub-indicators, including labor market expectations (73.32 vs 72.19 in July), future price expectations (36.57 vs 35.82), household finances (78.12 vs 77.42), and domestic economic conditions (81.20 vs 80.53 in July).
By contrast, decreases were seen in stock investment prospects (27.72 vs 28.08) and durable goods purchases (93.14 vs 93.43).
Two other indicators also improved, namely current health conditions (86.94 vs 86.70) and expected future health conditions (82.36 vs 81.77), while the gauge for the timing of real estate purchases deteriorated slightly (90.03 vs 90.13).
